Texas Housing Conservancy CEO & President Monica Medina wins Austin Business Journal Women in Business Award 2025

Monica Medina is taking on a notable goal in Texas: keeping the state affordable for the middle class.

After stops at Frost Bank, Wells Fargo and Broadway Bank, Medina in 2023 became president of the Texas Housing Conservancy — then called Affordable Central Texas — and in 2024 was named CEO of the organization.

The conservancy is designed to ensure Texas’ workforce can afford to live in the state by building a social impact fund to preserve apartment properties for long-term affordability, as well as provide programs to build community and improve resident outcomes. Under Medina's leadership, it has expanded its nearly $500 million portfolio and advanced its goal to preserve 15,000 units of affordable workforce housing over the next five years.
